DailyAxe.com provides Stanford sports fans with reliable, interesting and constantly updated stories on athletics from the Farm. We’re an independent site—independent from Stanford University and independent from any enormous media conglomerate—and we think that allows us to go places that other sites won’t go and to speak the truth once we get there.
We started up because we couldn’t find great free, online coverage of the Cardinal. You shouldn’t have to pay for sports news, and you shouldn’t have to endlessly search for intelligent and fun coverage of your Card. We wanted to put the most valuable Stanford sports coverage in one place with good writing and real opinions, and that’s what we try to do at DailyAxe.com.
Being a sports fan should be fun and not an insult to your intellect. After all, you’re a fan of one of the world’s greatest academic institutions; in keeping with the spirit and integrity of Stanford, our site won’t be full of coach-speak and sports clichés. In our eyes, if our content can make you laugh, help you learn something and make you want to come back for more, we’ve done our job.
The short version: DailyAxe.com is the best place to read up about your Stanford Cardinal.
Short disclaimer: We would like to cover all of Stanford’s intercollegiate varsity teams, but comprehensive coverage of all of them is impossible. Since we don’t have a staff of 100 full-time writers ready to attend every game, match, meet and event, we focus our efforts on football and the basketball teams (women and men). However, if you have a scoop from any of Stanford’s athletics teams and you think it belongs on The Daily Axe, please send it along to us. As long as it’s appropriate and relevant, it has a place on our site.
Another, even shorter, disclaimer: DailyAxe.com is not officially endorsed by, affiliated with, or in any way legally associated with Stanford University or any of the University’s entities. The opinions and information presented on DailyAxe.com are representative of their authors only, and do not express the opinions of Stanford University or the administration of DailyAxe.com.
Now that we have that out of the way… enjoy the sports.
