Stanford and Cal take the field to play for the Stanford Axe in the 113th Big Game this Saturday in Berkeley. All this week, the Farm will host Cardinal spirit events to prepare for the biggest college football game of the season for Stanford, Cal, and the Bay Area. Here’s a calendar of notable events in the next 6 days.
Monday
- Noon, White Plaza: The Bearial. The Stanford Band leads the impalement of a (fake) bear atop The Claw.
Tuesday
- 11:00 AM-3:00 PM, White Plaza: Bone Marrow Drive. This one’s pretty self-explanatory.
- 11:00 AM-3:00 PM, Arrillaga Rec Center: Rivals for Life Blood Drive. Also self-explanatory, except your good deed goes not only to saving lives, but also to beating Cal. Win-win.
- 2:00 PM-Midnight, Jack in the Box Restaurants: Free Tacos. This has nothing to do with Big Game, but everything to do with getting free food. Two tacos normally cost only $1, but so what? Free is free.
- 8:00 PM, 155 Dwinelle Hall, Berkeley: The Big Sing. Stanford and Cal student a cappella groups perform in an event that takes place at Stanford in odd-numbered years.
- 8:00 PM-12:00 AM, Arrillaga Alumni Center: Steve Aoki and Kid Sister. This won’t be either artist’s first gig for an institution run by Hennessy.
Wednesday
- 11:00 AM-3:00 PM, White Plaza: Bone Marrow Drive.
- Noon, White Plaza: Fan Central (Freshmen vs. Juniors): Lots of class v. class yelling and some free stuff.
- 8:00 PM, MemAud: Gaieties. Annual student show exhibiting lots of naked people and why Stanford hates Cal.
Thursday
- Noon, White Plaza: Fan Central (Sophomores vs. Seniors). Same as Wednesday, with different classes.
- 8:00 PM, MemAud: Gaieties.
- 10:00 PM, Old Union: Big Game Rally.
Friday
- 8:00 PM, MemAud: Gaieties.
Saturday
- 12:30 PM, California Memorial Stadium: Big Game.
