For the first time in weeks, the football teams of the PAC-10 basically played as they were supposed to play. That means that 4 of our 5 picks were correct, and our only incorrect prediction merely gives Stanford fans greater hope that the Card will take back the Axe at Big Game. Elsewhere, Oregon showed that is virtually incapable of losing, Arizona State put up the kind of performance we’ve been waiting for for weeks, and Oregon State just might be a major player in the conference championship race again. Today, Oregon stands atop the standings with an unblemished 5-0 conference record, while Stanford, Arizona, and Oregon State all have one loss in PAC-10 play. USC, ASU, Cal, and Washington all sport 2-3 marks, while UCLA sits at 1-4 and Washington State is still winless within the conference.
