Once again, we learned virtually nothing about the PAC-10 power hierarchy by watching the weekend’s games. We did confirm that the conference is highly competitive and has more high-level parody than any other BCS conference in the country. Of the conference’s clear-cut triumvirate, Oregon and Arizona played highly effective games, while Stanford stumbled against Washington State. Washington and Arizona State, both teams that have looked promising in past weeks and looked to be improving rapidly, put up inexplicably poor performances, while the west’s most inconsistent team, Cal, thumped the Sun Devils and sealed a victory well before the 4th quarter began. The two teams that sat the week out–Oregon State and USC–should finish in the conference’s top half and Oregon State should have a spot in a bowl game, but we’ll have to wait until this coming Saturday to see the Beavers and Trojans again.

  • Stanford def. Washington State, 38-28
  • Oregon def. UCLA, 60-13
  • California def. Arizona State, 50-17
  • Arizona def. Washington, 44-14
  • Our Record This Week: 2-2
  • Our Record This Season: 34-14 (.708)
